Our Musical Director
Uilson Castro
Uilson Castro is originally from Schifflange, where he took his first steps in music with the local band while also studying at the Conservatoire in Esch-sur-Alzette.
After working in the private sector for many years, he decided to devote himself fully to his passion for music and was admitted to the Bern University of the Arts (Switzerland).
There, he studied euphonium with Thomas Rüedi and conducting with Rolf Schumacher. During his studies in Switzerland, he gained valuable conducting experience with a wide range of ensembles, from concert bands and brass bands to string orchestras.
Since September 2023, Uilson has been the conductor of both the Garnecher Musek and the Harmonie Municipale Rollingergrund.
Today, Uilson also works as a music teacher in Echternach, at the Conservatoire of the City of Esch-sur-Alzette, and at several regional music schools.
Our Youth Orchestra Conductor
Olivia Moreira
Olívia Moreira, the current conductor of our youth orchestra, is 24 years old and studied music, completing her Master’s degree in French Horn Performance at the University of the Arts Bremen in 2025.
Olívia has performed with various orchestras across Europe, including the Philharmonisches Orchester Bremerhavenin Germany, the Mediterranean Orchestra in France, the Symphony Orchestra Bari in Italy, and the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Portugal.
